Following a protest by family and friends, who blocked the Jorobas-Tula highway near the municipality of Atotonilco de Tula on Saturday, authorities intensified the search for a missing woman, identified as 39-year-old Adela Cruz Cruz, who has been missing since January 26.

In two separate attempted robberies on highways in Hidalgo, three women were wounded by gunfire.

The Hidalgo State Commission for the Search of Missing Persons (CBPEH) led an individualized search in the municipality of Tula de Allende, in coordination with the State Police, the Violet Police, and the Municipal Police, with the direct participation of family members and people close to the victim.

According to family members, the demonstration and road closure, which took place the day before, aimed to demand greater attention and concrete actions from authorities regarding the woman’s disappearance. This situation led to a reinforcement of search operations and patrols in the area.

State authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining active search efforts and requested the public’s support in providing any information that could help locate the woman. Information can be submitted anonymously through the official social media accounts of the CBPEH (State Search and Rescue Agency of Hidalgo).

As part of the search efforts, drones have been used to reinforce patrols and expand the search area.
