An unexpected tornado struck the highland region in Hidalgo, causing significant damage to ten properties. The natural phenomenon occurred in the community of El Tepozán, Almoloya municipality. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, but material losses were substantial.
According to the Almoloya Civil Protection and Fire Department, several residents experienced nervous crises and received assistance from local health personnel. The ten damaged properties include four residential houses and six structures used as warehouses and corrals. The powerful wind gusts tore off sheet metal roofs, leaving the buildings exposed.
In a swift response, the Mexican Army implemented Plan DN-III to aid the community. Military personnel carried out cleanup and debris removal, providing crucial support to affected residents. Now, the El Tepozán community faces the challenging task of rebuilding and restoring normalcy after the tornado’s passage.
