
Traditional cooks from the municipality of Santiago de Anaya, in the state of Hidalgo, participate in the Pre-Hispanic Food Fair
The gastronomic event was held in Mexico City.
In recent years, traditional cooks from the municipality of Santiago de Anaya, in the State of Hidalgo, have participated in various activities at the local, national and international level. The most recent is the Third Food Fair of Pre-Hispanic Origin in Mexico City.
Two traditional cooks and an artisan participated in the event, the municipal government reported through the Social Communication area.
The fair took place from July 11 to 14 from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Macro Plaza of Iztapalapa, with the purpose of rescuing the cultural and gastronomic roots, in addition to promoting local economic development.
In it you can find a wide variety of traditional dishes made with ancestral products, such as purslane, amaranth or chipilín tamales, ahuatle tortillas, rabbit mixiote, among others, reported the Iztapalapa mayor’s office. He added that conferences and workshops on biodiversity are also held.
Other events where traditional cooks from that municipality will participate are at the Los Pinos Cultural Complex this July 13 and 14.
On Sunday, July 14, in Plaza Jacarandas, traditional cooks will participate in a conversation: Luisa and Estela Anaya Pérez, Isabel Cruz Miranda and Mayte Hernández Hernández.
Dance groups from the Mezquital Valley region and other municipalities in the state of Hidalgo also be performed as part of the event.
