The state of Hidalgo is participating—showcasing the full richness of its regions—in a culinary event organized by the Mexican Government’s Secretariat of Tourism, led by Josefina Rodríguez.

This culinary showcase, taking place at Mexico City’s Campo Marte from June 25 to June 30, brings together the most representative flavors from the country’s 32 states against the backdrop of the World Cup season.

The event is part of broader efforts to boost tourism promotion and highlight Mexico’s gastronomic wealth.

Hidalgo will share the essence of its traditional cuisine in “El Corazón del Sabor” (The Heart of Flavor), a space dedicated to the country’s central region. Grindelia Hernández, a cook from Calnali, will offer visitors to the capital a taste of iconic dishes such as zacahuil, bocoles, and hibiscus water (agua de Jamaica), thereby preserving the culinary legacy of the Hidalgo Huasteca region.

Secretary Liz Quintanar highlighted that this gathering offers an opportunity to share the state’s gastronomic richness with the thousands of people expected to attend.

“It is a fantastic event amidst the World Cup excitement, allowing visitors, tourists, and locals to enjoy some of our state’s most representative dishes at this major gastronomic showcase,” she stated.

It is worth noting that the state’s extensive and varied cuisine is a key distinguishing feature and a major draw for visitors, “because here you will find everything from barbacoa, zacahuil, pastes, and enchiladas—the whole of Hidalgo—on a single plate,” the official remarked.

Hidalgo’s participation in “México de Mis Sabores” (Mexico of My Flavors) aligns with Governor Julio Menchaca’s strategy to strengthen state identity by promoting gastronomic and cultural heritage in venues that showcase the state on both national and international stages.
