Local authorities and the management of El Geiser water park in Tecozautla, Hidalgo, activated a preventative evacuation protocol this morning after an unusual decrease in the flow of water and steam from the natural phenomenon was recorded. This led to the temporary suspension of activities and the evacuation of visitors.

According to official reports, the anomaly was related to low pressure in the natural hydraulic system, presumably caused by the earthquakes that occurred in the early morning hours in the state of Oaxaca, which may have indirectly affected the water supply to the tourist complex.

Given the situation, the park’s management proceeded with the orderly evacuation of tourists and employees, adhering to established safety protocols. No incidents or injuries were reported.

Civil Protection, Public Safety, and geology specialists arrived at the site and are conducting technical inspections to assess the terrain and the system feeding the geyser, in order to rule out any risks and determine when operations can resume.

Authorities reported that the resort will remain closed until further notice while the corresponding inspections continue, and urged the public to stay informed through official channels before planning a visit.
