From August 23 to September 1, the 2024 University Book Fair will be held, organized by the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, with the motto: “Where the Wind Does Not Carry Letters.”

It is the 37th edition with the most prestigious artistic and cultural activities in the country, with the best publishers, promoting the business market and linking the academic sector at all times.

Rector Octavio Castillo Acosta, said in a press conference, that in this framework the FUL Children, FUL Youth, Poetry Meeting, Awards and Recognitions programs will be developed, as well as its Program for Professionals made up of the University Booksellers Meeting, as well as the University Library-Economy Days.

“As you can see, both the editorial and sports aspects are activities that are designed by the university and its fair with a family conception. We want not only adults to attend, but also young people and children individually and as a family,” said the rector.

The idea is to encourage the habit of reading and to appreciate the visual and plastic arts within the theme of each of its editions, allowing the dissemination of national and international cultural heritage.

The highest cultural ambassador of the educational institution will be present: the Symphony Orchestra of the Autonomous University of the State of Hidalgo, a reference in the panorama of concert music.

The University Athletic Race will even be launched once again, with international recognition, promoting physical activity as a means of development and integral training.

The Hidalgo University and its board of trustees have made a great effort for years to maintain the Book Fair uninterruptedly, despite the Covid pandemic, a time when it was organized in digital format.

“Most of the activities that take place in this thirty-seventh edition of the University Book Fair will be carried out in a hybrid way, that is, in person and will also be broadcast over the internet,” the academic stressed.

The Poliforum Carlos Martínez Balmori has been the official headquarters of the University Book Fair since 2011, with multidisciplinary activities within a general program of dynamics to be implemented.

The Netherlands will be the guest of honor with the theme: Tolerance and Inclusion, and a visit of 150 thousand people is expected.
