The pilot of the hot air balloon that collapsed in Teotihuacan and caused the death of two people was detained when he was admitted at the General Hospital of Pachuca, in the state of Hidalgo.

The suspect was traced to the Hidalgo state capital after fleeing the accident to seek medical help as he suffered severe burns on his face.

According to information, the Regional Prosecutor’s Office of Tecámac in the State of Mexico was informed of the whereabouts of the person who directed this balloon, who was in the hospital of the capital of the state of Hidalgo awaiting medical attention.

The subject presented burns on 90 percent of his face, after the balloon failure which also left two people dead and a minor injured.
