The Zócalo de Puebla will be closed during the Day of the Dead festival. Sanitary filters will be installed in the portals.

The Puebla City Council announced closures on the Zócalo “main plaza” and will establish sanitary fences in the portals to avoid crowds in the Historic Center for Day of the Dead festivities.

In a statement, he indicated that citizens will not be allowed to stay at these points unless they attend one of the restaurants in the area.

The Ministry of Civil Protection and Comprehensive Risk Management will carry out capacity verification operations (up to 33%), sanitary protocols, and restaurant closures in accordance with the provisions of the state decree.

He indicated that the Ministry of the Interior will supervise that the restrictions on the occupation of commerce on public roads are respected during the celebration of the season so that operations will be carried out to persuade and prevent occupation.

The Traffic Control Directorate will restrict the passage of vehicles , from 00:00 hours this October 31 at:

  • Reforma Avenue with 3 North
  • Avenida 16 de Septiembre with 3 Poniente
  • Avenida Juan de Palafox and Mendoza with 2 North-South
  • Calle 5 de Mayo with 2 Oriente
  • Avenida 2 Sur with 3 Oriente.

They will be enabled as alternative routes :

  • Avenida 11 South- North
  • 2 and 4 Poniente-Oriente
  • 5 and 7 East- West
  • Bulevar Héroes del 5 de Mayo.
