Hidalgo Tourist Police rescue 20 lost hikers in a forested area of ​​Mineral del Chico; no injuries.

Tourist Police officers from the Hidalgo Public Security Secretariat managed to locate a group of 20 hikers who had gotten lost in a forested area of ​​Mineral del Chico.

It was reported that the vacationers became disoriented in the area known as “Llano Grande,” within the forested area.

The group, consisting of 14 adults and six minors, began their hike around 4:00 p.m. However, when night fell and there was no news of their return, the park manager requested assistance from the authorities.

A group of officers conducted a search for more than eight kilometers inside the forest, where they finally located the visitors in good physical condition. They were later taken to the Tourist Police operations base, where Civil Protection personnel evaluated them medically.

According to those affected, they lost their way back due to becoming disoriented in the area, although they confirmed they were not injured.

Authorities urged visitors to take extreme caution if they are unfamiliar with the area, as it is common for hikers to get lost in the wooded areas.
