The Hidalgo State Attorney General’s Office (PGJEH) reported that four people were arrested for allegedly murdering two police officers. The suspects appear to be members of a satanic cult.
The incident occurred recently when two officers responded to a building in the La Loma neighborhood of Pachuca to serve a protection order on a woman.
However, upon arriving at the building, they were attacked by three men and a woman; one of the officers died, while another was seriously injured.
Local media reported that the injured officer died after being detained; both were beaten by the suspects, who had already been detained.
Jorge Reyes Hernández, mayor of Pachuca, commented that the building identified as “Iglesia Angelito Negro 666” had no prior complaints despite operating irregularities.
However, he emphasized that the location has already been secured and handed over to the appropriate authorities.
The PGJEH statement also identified the detainees as possible members of a cult.
Local media reported that the four suspects are being held in pretrial detention pending their possible indictment, which will be held on Friday afternoon.
Both officers were dismissed by the police force along with their families. Jennifer Elena Monroy, daughter of the officer named Vicente Monroy, told local media that her father died due to negligence, as “they sent them without weapons,” so he was unable to defend himself.
