For the second time, the Tianguis de Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns Fair) will be held in Hidalgo. Its 2025 edition is scheduled for the end of the year, where the committees of the 177 Magic Towns in the country will meet.
During her visit to the state, Federal Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora announced that the event will be decentralized so that different Hidalgo municipalities will host cultural activities, dances, food shows, and meetings with national and international press and influencers.
“We want people to know what Hidalgo is about beyond the meeting point,” he stated.
He also referred to the new guidelines for the Magical Towns, which will now be classified into categories A, B, or C based on their level of infrastructure, promotion, hotel offerings, and tourist experience.
In this regard, he clarified that Hidalgo’s nine Magical Towns are not at risk of losing their distinction, but will be reorganized according to these new rules.
The strategy also includes departures from the market to real tourist routes, allowing visitors to experience the attractions of each region of the state firsthand.
We don’t want a closed-off event; we want movement, visibility, real tourism,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Hidalgo Governor Julio Menchaca Salazar confirmed that his administration is already working on the necessary infrastructure to host these committees, as this event is key to projecting the state as a comprehensive destination.
